My Journey to Become a Young Professional Working in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector

នាងខ្ញុំឈ្មោះ ចិន អេច បច្ចុប្បន្ននាងខ្ញុំជានិស្សិតម្នាក់ដែលរៀននៅសាលាវិទ្យាល័យមួយនៅទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញ (ITC)។ តើអ្វីដែលជាកត្តាជំរុញឲ្យខ្ញុំស្រឡាញ់ជំនាញវិស្វកម្ម? ហើយតើអ្នកទាំងអស់គ្នាធ្លាប់ដឹងពីសាកលវិទ្យាល័យនេះពីមុនមកទេ? មនុស្សជាច្រើនបានសួរមកកាន់ខ្ញុំថា ហេតុអ្វីមករៀននៅទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញ? ហើយគេបាននិយាយថាម៉េចមិនប្រឡងគ្រូ ឬទៅរៀននៅភូមិទៅ? ហើយគេសួរទៀតថារៀនចប់ធ្វើការងារអ្វី?
អ្វីដែលមនុស្សជាច្រើនតែងតែសួរមកកាន់ខ្ញុំ និងអ្វីដែលពួកគាត់តែងថាមិនអាចទៅរួចទាំងអស់នោះហើយដែលជំរុញនាងខ្ញុំឲ្យខំរៀនរហូតប្រឡងជាប់នៅជំនាញដែលខ្ញុំស្រឡាញ់។ ការខិតខំរៀនសូត្រ និងការតាំងចិត្តរបស់ខ្ញុំ នឹងធ្វើឲ្យខ្ញុំបានសម្រេច គោលដៅខ្លះៗ។ ហើយនៅពេលខ្ញុំបញ្ចប់នៅសាកលវិទ្យាល័យ នាងខ្ញុំនឹងជួយគ្រួសារនៅស្រុក ខេត្ត ហើយនឹងជួយពង្រីកការងារសង្គមឲ្យរីកលូតលាស់។
នៅក្នុងវិស័យទឹកស្អាត តាមខ្ញុំសិក្សាមកឃើញថា វិស័យនេះនៅខ្វះធនធានមនុស្សច្រើន ហើយក៏មានមនុស្សជាច្រើនដែលមិនទាន់យល់ដឹងអំពីវិស័យនេះ ជាពិសេសស្ត្រីដែលរស់នៅតាមតំបន់ដាច់ស្រយាល គឺពួកគាត់ខ្វះការយល់ដឹងច្រើនពីទឹកនិងអនាម័យ។ មួយវិញទៀតចង់ឲ្យមានការផ្សព្វផ្សាយពីវិស័យទឹកស្អាតនិងអនាម័យ នៅតាមសាលានានាចាប់តាំងពីថ្នាក់ទី១ឡើងទៅ ពីព្រោះកុមារគឺជាកត្តាលីករដែលសង្គមត្រូវការ។ ម្យ៉ាងវិញទៀតចង់ឲ្យមានការផ្សព្វផ្សាយព័ត៌មានទៅតាមតំបន់ដាច់ស្រយាល។
My name is Chin Ech, currently a student at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia in Phnom Penh. So, what are the factors that make me love to study engineering? And have you ever heard of this university before? A lot of people have asked me that why do I come to study in Phnom Penh? And they continued asking why didn’t I choose to have the entrance exam to become a teacher instead or why didn’t I pursue my university in my hometown? Last but not least, they asked “what will I do after my graduation?’’.
What people asking me and what they said that I couldn’t make it are the things that push me to pass the entrance exam on the major that I love. My hard work and commitment enable me to archive some of the goals.
Moreover, when I graduated, I will help my family, my district, and my province, and I will help to improve social work. In the WASH sector, from what I observe, there is still lack of people, and there aren’t many people aware of this sector. Especially, women who are living in the rural area, they still have lack of information and knowledge on WASH. On the other hand, I would like to see more dissemination of WASH in schools starting from first grade because children are the indicator that society needs, as well as the dissemination in the rural areas.
