My Journey to Become a Young Professional Working in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector

នាងខ្ញុំឈ្មោះ ឃឿន រំដួល ជានិស្សិតនៅវិទ្យាស្ថានបច្ចេកវិទ្យាកម្ពុជាជំនាញបវិស្វកម្មទឹក និងបរិស្ថាន។
ខ្ញុំជាក្មេងស្រីម្នាក់ដែលមកពីជនបទ ហើយក៏ជាក្មេងស្រីដំបូងដែលមកបន្តការសិក្សានៅទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញ។ ហេតុអ្វីនៅក្នុងភូមិរបស់ខ្ញុំមានខ្ញុំជាក្មេងស្រីដំបូងដែលបន្តការសិក្សារនៅទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញ? ដោយសារភូមិរបស់ខ្ញុំជាភូមិតូចមួយដែលមានផ្ទះប្រហែល២០០ខ្នង។ ខ្ញុំជាក្មេងស្រីដំបូងដែលរៀនជំនាញវិស្វកម្មនេះដោយសារតែមហិច្ឆតាមួយក្នុងចិត្តចង់ឲ្យក្មេងស្រីនៅក្នុងភូមិមើលឃើញថាមនុស្សស្រីក៏អាចរៀនជំនាញដូចមនុស្សប្រុសបានដែរ។
មិនតែប៉ុណ្តោះ ខ្ញុំមើលឃើញពីភាពលំបាកនៅក្នុងភូមិទាក់ទងក្នុងការប្រើប្រាស់ទឹក ដែលមិនសូវមានសុវត្ថិភាព ក៏ក្នុងចិត្តចង់រកដំណោះស្រាយបញ្ហាទឹកនេះ ជូនបងប្អូននៅក្នុងភូមិរបស់ខ្ញុំ ឲ្យមានការប្រើប្រាស់ទឹកយ៉ាងងាយស្រួល។ តាមរយៈមហិច្ឆតាចង់ឲ្យប្រជាជនក្នុងភូមិមានទឹកស្អាតប្រើប្រាស់ ក៏អាចចូលរៀនជំនាញវិស្វកម្មទឹកនិងបរិស្ថាន។
បន្ទាប់ពីខ្ញុំបញ្ចប់ការសិក្សានៅក្នុងជំនាញនេះ ខ្ញុំនឹងយកចំណេះដឹងរបស់ខ្ញុំទៅធ្វើការក្នុងវិស័យទឹកស្អាត និងអនាម័យជូនដល់ប្រជាជនដែលមានផលវិបាកលើការប្រើប្រាស់ ចំណុចសំខាន់ដែលខ្ញុំផ្តោតទៅលើគឺជនពិការ ស្ត្រី និងកុមារ។ ថ្ងៃអនាគតបើសិនមានការសហការជាមួយអង្គការក្រៅរដ្ឋាភិបាល ឬក្រុមហ៊ុនផ្សេងៗ ខ្ញុំនឹងបង្កើតជាស្ថានីយ៏ទឹកស្អាតជូនដល់ពួកគាត់ឲ្យបានការប្រើប្រាស់យ៉ាងងាយស្រួល។
My name is Khoeun Romdoul, I’m a fourth-year student majoring in water and environmental engineering.
I’m a rural girl and also the first girl in my village that comes to study in Phnom Penh. So why am I the first girl who can continue my degree in Phnom Penh? Because my village is so small which has approximately 200 houses only. I’m the first girl who studies this field because of my ambition and mindset that I want to see girls can study the same major as boys.
Not only this, I see the difficulties in the village related to the use of unsafe water, and I also want to find a solution to this problem for my people in my village to use water easily. Through this ambition to provide clean water to the villagers, that’s the reason why I study water and environmental engineering degree.
After my graduation, I will apply my knowledge to work in the field of water and sanitation to help people who have difficulty in receiving those mostly people with disabilities, women, and children. In the future, if there is cooperation with NGOs or other companies, I will build a water station for them to use easily.
