My Journey to Become a Young Professional Working in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector

Hello everyone, my name is Seng Vouchty. I’m a student in year 4 at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia. My major is engineering related to water and the environment.
I have changed 360 degrees when I started to study at the university because I need to make sure that I know clearly what life is because studying alone is not a success in my life. Things are fluctuated in my life. I used to be an outstanding student in mathematics in 2012 and 2015 in Prey Veng province, and I also used to get the scholarship from the Ministry of Education in Cambodia to study at ITC. However, I was sick and needed to drop out during my fresh year due to my heath. Then, this scholarship was canceled. Luckily when I came back to school after sick, I got the scholarship from WaterAid Cambodia. Moreover, the reason why I chose this field because I want to work on water quality, water, and wastewater treatment. I would like to see Cambodian living in a safe and good environment.
In order to achieve those goals, I try to learn new things related to water quality, water treatment, wastewater treatment to solve the issue we are facing right now. And, I try to disseminate to the rural people to know the importance of living with clean and good water and environment.
